What is My Name is Kim Sam Soon About? (Another Synopsis)
August 15, 2005This seris is as sweet as pastry goodies. If you like characters with distinctive and interesting personalities, then this is the series for you. MBC’s new series “My Lovely Samsoon” will begin airing on June 1st, and inside there is an unique character named “Samsoon”. The genre for this drama is Romance Comedy.
The storyline is about a chubby normal girl named Kim Sam Soon (played by Kim Sun Ah) who just loves to eat food whenever she gets stressed out. As a 29 year old single woman, she is not pretty, not young and not too educated. However, she is strong, has a great passion in everyday life, and have the spirit to go forwards no matter what happens.
She met her first boyfriend in Paris when she was there to train as a pastry chef three years ago. However, as the days go by, he gradually became bored of her. In the end, the three year relationship ended up in heart breaks and a few sheded tears.
She lost her man (gets dumped by her boyfriend) and her job in one day. Just when she was scolding fate for her bad luck, destiny seemed to have other plans for her afterall. Sam Soon suddenly a cold man who owns a restaurant named Hyun Jin Huhn / Hyun Jin-heon (played by Hyun Bin) (aka Hyun Sam Sek), who offered her a job at Bon Appetit and asked Sam-soon to be his girlfriend (that she would pretend to be his girlfriend for 50,000,000 Korean Won). He was also in a car accident 3 years ago which left him a crippled leg. He also lost his older brother and his wife from the accident, and his girlfriend named Yoo Hee-jin (played by Jung Ryu Won). Hee Jin finds out that he falls in love with an ugly girl named Kim Sam Soon and has to compete against Sam Soon to win Jin Huhn / Jin-heon’s love back.

“Not young”? At 29? Are they INSANE?? What is this world coming to? We are not living in a past century where the life expectancy was 40. Sheesh!
