Kim Suna, beloved for her role as Samsoon in the drama “My Name is Kim Samsoon” has signed a contract worth ₩700,000,000, as a cosmetics model for DHC Korea for one year.

At her first filming as a cosmetics model, Kim Suna lost her previous plump image from the TV drama “My Name is Kim Samsoon,” and transformed her image into a sophisticated and provocative woman.

Hyunbin to Become Esquire Hong Kong’s Cover Boy

Hyunbin, the hero of this summer’s hit drama “My Name is Kim Sam-soon,” will be on the cover of a special edition of the Hong Kong version of Esquire magazine.

A source said Hyunbin will adorn the men’s magazine’s 17th anniversary issue and has finished shooting two different versions.

The issue will also feature an article introducing him as a Korean actor likely to conquer Asia and an interview about his daily life, the source said.

‘Brown-eyed Brad Pitt’ attacks TV screen

As if one wasn’t enough, a second “Brad Pitt” with brown eyes and jet black hair has appeared without notice, luring viewers every Monday and Tuesday nights through the MBC primetime drama “Sweet Spy.”
Not only does this “new” heartthrob have everything of the original, he is younger, taller and broader.

For the 24-year-old Korean-American actor Dennis Joseph O’Neil, better known to viewers as Dennis O, his “predecessor” Daniel Henney’s overwhelming popularity was both a chance and a risk.

As a Korean actor carrying an exotic aura of the West, Henney, 26, had immediately grabbed the hearts of female viewers of the popular TV series “My Lovely Sam-soon,” which ended in July.

The “Henney effect” has become a buzzword in Korea’s advertising industry, as Daniel Henney, a Eurasian model-turned-actor, has helped to boost sales of whatever he advertises here, from cars to clothes.

Mr. Henney, who was born in the United States to a British father and Korean mother, was catapulted to stardom after he appeared in the local television show “My name is Kim Sam-soon.” In this hit show, which aired from May to July, Mr. Henney played a suave Korean-American doctor who came to Korea with the female patient he fell in love with.

My Lovely Sam Soon

The actress who plays saucy Kim Sam Soon, Korean version of Bridget Jones - Kim Sun-ah, well-known for previous comedic roles, who gained 15 pounds for the part - sees the show as a beacon of hope for mature women who sympathize with their earthy heroine.

“I don’t consider myself or Sam-soon an old maid,” she said in a recent interview with film magazine Cine 21. “It’s society that casts them that way.”
